A Message from the BSA President - 2019 Bullseye Nationals Canceled

August 13, 2019

Dear Bullseye Sailors,

It is with the deepest regret that I must inform you that the Saunderstown Yacht Club has been forced to make the difficult decision to cancel this year's Bullseye Nationals scheduled for August 23-25.

This is not a decision that I ever wanted any of our host clubs to have to make. But the SYC had good reason to take this action due to the lack of registrants and we share in their great disappointment. What I want to assure all Bullseye sailors, members of the BSA or not, that the cancellation of the Bullseye National Championship in 2019 is simply an unfortunate anomaly. The Nationals will most assuredly continue. We look forward to Fisher's Island 2020 where our National Championship is scheduled to be held and will give our utmost support to the organizing authority/host club, the Fisher's Island Yacht Club, as we do all our host clubs

Rest assured, Bullseye Sailors, that your Executive Committee and Fleet Representatives will thoroughly analyze the factors that contributed to this years cancellation in the coming weeks and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that the 2020 Nationals, and future National Championships, are a success. Return visits to Fisher's Island ('20) , Rockport ('21), Card Sound ('22), and Winter Harbor ('23) are an exciting slate of venues for you, our sailors! The BSA and our host clubs are looking forward to your participation ensuring great camaraderie and great sailing.

I, and the entire Bullseye Sailing Association, want to thank the Saunderstown Yacht Club for its efforts in organizing the Nationals this year. We are looking forward to working with them in the future.

Fair Winds,

Windsor D. Coffin
President
